I’m facing an unusual issue. I removed all partitions and formatted the hard drives for a clean setup, even though I had previous mentions of important device installations. Some labels indicated device manufacturing, but I wasn’t certain what they meant. I’m hoping there’s still a chance to recover and that I can avoid damaging my graphics card. Should I proceed with flashing the BIOS? I attempted a bios flashback already, but any advice would be appreciated—especially since I don’t want to ruin my 3080. Thanks for your time.
Edit: I also noticed my network port isn’t working, and both my Wi-Fi cards are failing too, with similar error messages in the details. All PCI devices are showing unknown manufacturers. I’m confused about why this is happening. Checked the BIOS, but it only lists a generic NVIDIA and doesn’t specify the RTX 3080 model. My specs are:
- Ryzen 9 5950x
- Motherboard b550F Strix Rog ASUS
- 32GB GD RAM
- RTX 3080
- 1000W power supply
Everything was new a few years ago or recently.
Running Windows 11.
Keep BIOS unchanged.
Transfer all drivers to another machine. Paste onto a flash drive.
Please note the exact model name of your motherboard.

I believe the initial focus should be on the "fresh install" – what steps were taken?
For Windows 11, I’m checking the relevant documentation.
It seems the device drivers might need updating, as the default drivers could be incorrect.
Another possibility is a weak CMOS battery causing the system to revert to default BIOS settings, which may lead to conflicts. Consider replacing the CMOS battery if possible.
Please review the Reliability History/Monitor for any error codes, warnings, or informational events, especially critical errors marked red.
I can describe the actions I took to attempt reinstalling Windows. I had a free updated version of Windows 11. When I accessed BIOS, it prompted whether to return to previous settings or not; I chose to accept. I kept going despite this. I booted from my Windows media drive on the flash drive to install Windows. All partitions were removed and the drive was formatted, leaving only the two hard drives to load Windows on certain partitions. I still deleted those partitions (was it important hardware files to identify the connected device in PCI?).
At first, Windows refused installation because it said "system doesn’t meet requirements," which surprised me. It kept trying but would restart mid-installation until finally it worked, though I couldn’t complete a full setup due to no internet connection.
After checking Device Manager, all my PCI devices were marked yellow and labeled as virtual. My graphics card wasn’t recognized—BIOS showed it as a NVIDIA card instead of the actual RTX 3080.
Launch Device Manager and capture the highlighted icons. Also open Disk Manager, expand it fully, and snap a picture. Share the images here at imgur.
it doesn’t reveal the manufacturer details when I look into the flagged parts. Unfortunately, I don’t have a backup of those files—were they crucial in recognizing the device at a hardware level? Is it possible to brick components by deleting files directly from the device itself? I’m unsure how these files could have ended up in a partition or loaded like that. After restarting my computer with the RTX 3080, I deleted my partitions and left only the hard drives before. For a clean restart, it seems confusing to me how this situation could occur.
MOD EDIT
Another concern is checking properties: my network controller indicates no drivers for this device, says there are no comparable drivers, then suggests updating the drive. But without a connection, updating would be impossible. Would putting the drives on a flash drive be a solution? I need to find all my video card and motherboard drivers to resolve this issue.
