It seems few considered CoolRom might have removed the ROMs out of respect for Nintendo after emulator updates became public, similar to how manga translators adjust their work once official versions appear in another language. This would show appreciation for the creators.
The BIOS isn't protected by copyright in the same way as software from companies like Sony. Nintendo's hardware designs are generally considered design patents, not copyrights.
