The suggestion to use dafont was entirely useless, but I resolved it by installing all the Win 10 stock fonts, which worked.

You didn’t remove the font cache, just all your fonts. For future reference, save them at: C:\Windows\System32\FNTCACHE.DAT. Alternatively, you could revert your system to a previous state using Windows System Restore—personal files will remain intact.
