Hello, I powered on my PC today and noticed something strange: the icons are missing and seem to have vanished completely. I tried a workaround without success, and further attempts revealed other issues with my system, such as the control panel being damaged. I’m unsure what steps to take and don’t even know where to start. I’ve experienced similar problems before—just removing the shortcut symbol helped temporarily, but deleting the text in the string value named 29 and rebooting resolved it. Thanks for your help.

Keep the Shift key pressed and tap Restart. This will take you to the Windows startup options. Next, use F10 to access additional settings. After that, select Troubleshoot from the menu, then choose Startup Repair. Allow the process to complete.

Check the restoration logs to see the last backup dates. Storing backups doesn’t stop the issue—it only postpones its return.

It seems like a universal fix for various issues is being suggested. For mouse problems, try sfc /scannow. For hard drive issues, the same command works. Essentially, it's about trying this solution first. If you need further assistance, don't rely on someone without expertise.
