OneDrive is now connected to your desktop and saved all data there. Checking the free limit shows you have enough space, but transferring files locally isn’t working because your free tier is full. You may need to delete some files or use a different method to move them.

Currently, I’m trying to preserve every file on the device, yet after 70GB it’s disappeared, and everything seems lost.

Wouldn't it mean the files exist both locally and in OneDrive? Are there no remaining items in the folder you linked to OneDrive?

They suggested keeping everything off the PC by using OneDrive, but because my plan doesn’t allow it, all files are stored on a single drive. The system shows 70GB available, yet I can’t move the files due to insufficient space.

However, all my desktop files have disappeared, but I can still find them in OneDrive.

Do you have a nearby copy? I used OneDrive long ago, but whenever it messed up files, I switched to local backups. The issue is these tools act differently—they claim seamless syncing, but if they fail, you’re left with nothing.

From now on, I’ll focus on a more effective setup rather than keeping all my application files scattered across folders on the desktop.

Currently, I discovered a method for transferring files one by one from the main drive desktop to local documents and then to the local desktop.

This approach is perfectly valid. It seems Microsoft permits higher usage than the free limit but they strongly prefer buying a subscription. You're on the right track since deactivating or removing Onedrive often removes shared folder contents. Another useful tip is to back up files to an external drive while you retrieve them. This ensures you have a dependable backup, easier to access than cloud storage, should anything go wrong—like Windows crashing unexpectedly. Good luck!
