Hello, Windows has been attempting an update for some time but I haven't had enough space. Recently it decided to proceed without the necessary room, which completely altered my system's permissions. When I first tried to log in, it blocked me and created a temporary account. After a frustrating login attempt, I lost access to my files. I used the takeover command in cmd to try and regain control, but it reported success for each permission yet still denied access to File Explorer. In the permissions area, it says my account is the owner of the executable, so in theory I should be able to run it, but I can't. I keep encountering errors like "Server execution failed" and "Access denied." I'm at a loss for solutions. Please help me out.

I will revert the backups to their previous state. Which update were you updated with? Are these permissions for your home folder? Would it be possible to remove your home folder and then restore it from the backups?

Can you access the desktop? Claim ownership of one folder and regain full control. If this succeeds, repeat for all folders. If not, set up a new local user and transfer files from another profile. If that fails, reinstall Windows.

Couldn't locate a backup file. It seems to be the latest version. I don’t have any backups available. I tried logging in but can’t take ownership. I’m planning to reinstall Windows now. After that, I won’t be able to open any official Microsoft applications, even the Windows Store. There’s an error message displayed below. I’m unsure how to fix this. I compared permissions with someone who has a functional Windows Store, and the matches were correct, but I’m still confused.
