I own an Alienware R7M15 running at maximum capacity, mostly connected via AC power while charging. After about ten months, I noticed the battery health is around 25%, which seems quite low. I reached out to support, who suggested taking it to a warranty center. There they advised leaving the laptop for roughly two weeks before proceeding, and assured me I could handle the formatting myself since I’m a developer with frequent use. I purchased a replacement battery from the same store where I bought the original one. They installed it immediately in front of me, and after replacing the old unit, the battery reported 29% wear on HWMonitor. Once the new battery was fitted, the laptop started up normally at 97% capacity, but still showed 29% degradation. After performing a battery calibration (see help article), HWMonitor now reads 28%. Then I switched the laptop to AC primarily mode and ran another calibration. Any advice or insights would be appreciated. I’m curious if this issue is software-related or if the new battery could improve longevity. Also, I’d like to know if the battery capacity will stabilize over time with this change. Please note that the old battery was still present for a while, and it looked identical to the new one. Thank you!

The image indicates possible liquid exposure or moisture buildup. Did any substance fall onto the device?

I also saw that, though nothing ever leaked close to the laptop. I really look after it.
