Alienware Graphics Amp Case design and features
Looking for a different approach since the Alienware 15 and GTX 1080 failed in the graphics amp. I’m unsure if Alienware can be swapped into the amp to create a solid gaming rig without spending much money. Could there be another motherboard that fits into the amp case and turns it into a decent gaming machine?
Essentially, it won't work. The most effective solution is to install a desktop and add the GTX 1080 graphics card.
The laptop and GPU might still be functional. We can try to assist in resolving the issue. The graphics amplifier is simply an eGPU enclosure, so any damage appears limited.
I wasn't aware that one of my children moved the amplifier near my desk, causing the graphics card to partially exit its socket. After powering on the system, there was no post output and no video from the video card. I removed the graphics card from the amp and tried it in a desktop setup, but it still wouldn't post. My Alienware laptop wouldn't display anything even when running alone. I reached out to Dell and even took it to a local service center, which suggested a motherboard replacement. So I ended up selling both items as parts. I still own the graphics amp and was just curious about its potential uses beyond turning it into an oversized Raspberry Pi case.
