It also came with marks and bubble wrap on the screen. Hard to see when it's on, but visible when turned off at a right angle—definitely not a nice appearance for such a costly display.
I experienced exactly what I expected. Linked the screen and immediately saw the red blue green test pattern. The OSD still wouldn’t show anything. I could capture an image by holding the display port connector in a particular way, but it only worked for a short time before it reset to cycling colors again. It looks like there’s a faulty link between the display and the system that controls what appears.
My service interaction was equally disappointing. The representative seemed unqualified and couldn’t send a new display due to stock problems. I had to accept a refurbished unit, but if it isn’t brand new with the latest firmware, I’d request a refund. I wouldn’t want that since I managed to secure the display at a favorable price using discounts and cashback that I couldn’t match if I ordered anew. I should have recognized this issue earlier, especially since Dell has discontinued the code I used.
Get your butts ready once more. After reaching out to Dell and spending hours on their support line, I still haven’t received my refund for the order I ordered in March. It arrived in a non-working state in May and I had to return it—only to find myself waiting again in May. After another interaction with Dell’s team, I’m still on hold for a replacement monitor expected in August. I’ve tried cancelling the order and asking for a refund, but can’t reach anyone (maybe because it’s a Saturday?). I’m uncertain whether my order will actually be cancelled, and if it arrives around August I might finally have time to call them again.
I’m frustrated because I can’t control this process. With over a thousand dollars gone and no proof of anything, it’s really frustrating. I work during the day, so I don’t have time or phone access during regular hours. Now I’m on a holiday weekend, away from home, trying to fix this with Dell—while I should be spending time with my family.
I’m really upset and just wanted to vent. I hate these companies! They’re not just bad—they seem to have no real intention of being helpful. It’s just the size and bureaucracy making it impossible.
