Hi everyone, I just bought a new alienware aw3423dw from Dell. After connecting it to my PC, it displays blue, red, white, green, and black across the entire screen. I restarted both the computer and monitor, held the power button for 30 seconds, tried connecting my laptop via HDMI and DisplayPort, installed the driver and software, and Windows recognized the monitor. The OSD menu still doesn’t appear. Any suggestions?

Is there anything useful here? I’m not entirely sure what it is, but I’m looking for a connector that might work with it.

I'm facing the same problem with my device. The same model that came today is causing the same issue. I can see a different screen and a partial OSD menu when an HDMI cable is connected, but not when using a computer. With a DP cable, only the flashing colors appear as described.

Unfortunately, no success. If you can see the OSD, you may be able to perform a factory reset. Best of luck. Near the images, you could try pressing the joystick once, then selecting, and repeating that action a few times.

You received your device this Wednesday and connected it today, but you're still experiencing the same problem. Have you checked any troubleshooting steps yet?

Get ready for a tough process—probably because it’s Dell. The return journey can be quite lengthy (about an hour, or 47 minutes if you’re lucky). You’ll need to run some basic checks: hold the power button for 60 seconds, switch between power sources, test the display connection, and possibly verify with different devices. After that, you’ll have to record a video of the problem (as if you’re being dishonest) and send it along. Once reviewed, you’ll need to take photos of your monitor, the service tag, and present a form with date, time, address, and ticket number. This whole thing will go through management, and within a few days you should get an email about whether you’re getting a new or refurbished unit.

If it’s been over 30 days since purchase, you might only be eligible for a refurbished model—so don’t wait too long. Honestly, I’ve got a habit of putting things off until they’re urgent. This delay would have meant no returns and a used/refurbished monitor for the price of new.

After approval, shipping will be standard, not fast. For a backordered item like this, it’s hard to say exactly how long it’ll take.

Update: On May 31st, the replacement was approved and should arrive by August 5th.

No one has shared an update yet. It seems Dell's support isn't helping much, and they didn't recommend checking drivers. I've tried all their advice and more. The monitor OSD doesn't show anything at all. This issue appears on some older Alienware models, but those users managed it by holding the power button while pressing other buttons—a method that won't work here since the AW3423D has only one joystick besides the power button. Any ideas would be welcome.

I just got my monitor yesterday and it’s still having the same problem. It was shipped in March. No cables, no matter what. The screen keeps cycling through colors nonstop. No OSD appears. Being released this way is really surprising. 67787157430__D84C77E7-BF0E-43E6-802C-80BE49EB4472.MOV
