You're looking for more control over alarms and notifications. It seems Windows doesn't offer standalone alarm creation like Outlook does. You might need to explore third-party tools or custom solutions to set up recurring or one-time alerts independently.

The Clock & Alarms feature mimics a real alarm clock and stopwatch. You can check your calendar in the Windows Calendar app for events and receive alerts even when the app isn’t active (provided you haven’t turned it off in background mode). You’ll need a Microsoft account like outlook.com, live.com, or hotmail.com, and it works online, not just offline. You can also install it on your phone and get notifications through your preferred app.

If you need to schedule a reminder for a specific date, I know cortana will do that. If I knew a proper way to do it I'd mention it but tbh I actually don't know...

are you suggesting actually USING cortana???? Since this is a work computer and i already have outlook, i might as well use the outlook calendar if going through microsoft is the only other way. Windows could really stand to fix this blatant lack of thought...

Apologies for the error. The Mail and Calendar app connects to any mail or calendar service that supports the required protocol, not just Microsoft services. This means you can use accounts like Gmail or Yahoo. You can also link your company’s email or calendar with it. While you’ll miss out on many Outlook features, the advantage is you don’t need Outlook installed to receive notifications. It’s a simple mail and calendar tool. You can run both Outlook and the Mail/Calendar app together—imagine setting up your company’s email or calendar through a smartphone running Windows 10, which acts as a desktop or laptop.

It's different than you might expect! Simply entering a command in the Start menu brings up the setup screen, which is normal. However, from a technical standpoint, this involves using Cortana.

Hey there! To achieve what she wants, you must agree to her rules and surrender your spirit! I won’t yield to her demands.
