About an hour ago my computer fans reached maximum speed while using Word and I didn't notice anything unusual, until shortly after it stopped working. After restarting, I checked the BIOS and saw the CPU temperature was too high. It turned out the pump wasn't functioning properly, so I unplugged and reconnected everything. Now the CPU_opt header is working fine. If you use it in a non-dedicated header, should I expect any issues?

Turn off any custom fan settings in the BIOS for the pump. Alternatively, connect it directly to the PSU using a converter. There will be no issues.

Only the fan curve for the CPU and chassis fans exists. I wasn’t aware you could modify pump curves. If I keep it unchanged, the pump settings won’t apply in the cpu_opt header. So what’s the benefit of a separate pump header?

You possess two dedicated pump headers on your board. One is designed for higher current pumps and probably not suited for your needs (your AIO runs at 0.3A and 3.6W, without details on the regular header). The AIO_Pump header should suffice for you—you didn’t specify which one you used, but it seems likely it’s AIO_Pump given its proximity to the CPU. You shouldn’t need to modify the pump curve; there shouldn’t be a curve at all. Turn it off if necessary. That’s what I intended to say. Your pump should operate at full speed. It isn’t a PWM or adjustable-speed pump. Yes, you can keep it in the cpu_opt header—it won’t affect performance unless your BIOS includes a fan curve. Power and amperage remain unchanged. If the other header simply didn’t work for any reason, the second one is perfectly acceptable. Spoiler: stick with AIO_Pump.

I checked the pump header, and I let it run without power for 30 minutes to confirm. Now the header is working. I’m not sure why this happened, but if it repeats, I’ll add it to the cpu_opt header. Thanks for your support!
