AIO issues marked with a question mark
Hey! Your setup seems to be facing some issues with the cooler fan detection. The temperatures spike until BIOS starts, and even at idle with maximum fans it reaches 39°C (102.2°F). One AIO tube is circulating water while the other isn’t—this could indicate a problem with the pump or its connection. It’s possible you got the wrong cooler for your Ryzen 7700X, or there might be a fault in the AIO unit itself. Double-check the compatibility and consider testing it with a different cooler if needed. Thanks for reaching out!
Check if every header is linked. Verify the pump is operational and displays RPM in the BIOS. Confirm the AIO installation method. Provide photos of the interior components. Ensure thermal paste was applied correctly and the sticker on the coldplate was removed from the CPU.
Thank you for the update! The BIOS is displaying the pump at 2600+rpm. It’s connected via the AIO-pump header on the MOBO (B650-plus TUF). The front side of the case is mounted with tubes at the top, but placing them down doesn’t fit the socket easily. There’s no sticker on the cold plate. I’ve re-seated the AIO several times using different patterns. Used Arctic MX-4 thermal paste. The pump makes mechanical noises and bubbles are visible at the radiator top when I power it up. During startup, it boots into BIOS with temperatures around 60°C, then drops to 39°C and stays there. Trying to install Windows on a pre-installed SSD or bootable USB for Windows returns me to the boot screen (error attached).
No recent updates from the motherboard BIOS addressed the CPU cooler or detection features. The focus remains on memory and the CPU 7xxx lineup.
Are your fans linked to the CPU fan connector? Can you capture an image from inside your enclosure? Which case are you using? Background hissing is typical when your hoses sit atop the radiator, it's a subtle drip. Ensure the pump isn't positioned over those hoses.
Fans link to a CPU fan connector. I adjust the speed via BIOS. It's an older NZXT case, a popular half-tower from about 6-7 years ago—can't recall the exact model. The pump sits lower than the tubes. I used a Corsair H110i for six years in this setup and never faced issues. Attachments: blue shows where I connected the pump, yellow marks the fans with the included splitter, green indicates RGB case. NZXT model unknown; I removed the cooler because the mechanical sounds increased this morning. I’ll return it. I plan to try again today using a NZXT Kraken cooler with two 140mm fans.
I used an DDR4 kit and it worked fine. I don’t have any AM5 chips installed.
Received a Kraken 280 2x140mm and still encountering the same problem. Followed the manufacturer’s instructions for connecting the fans using the provided SATA cable—any suggestions? The boot screen keeps showing the same error.
