I'm setting up a build for a friend. 4770K overclocked with a 240mm AIO installed. Despite connecting the fans to the CPU 4pin as per the AIO manual, they don't increase speed under load. The BIOS has an aggressive fan profile, and the pump is powered through a 3pin chassis port at full power. Has anyone encountered this issue before? I'm running OCCT for stability testing and it keeps throttling the CPU because fans stay near 650RPM even at high speeds.

Here's a quick shot of the BIOS' fan profile for reference. I have not tried a software based fan controller, but I'd prefer to avoid it, since my friend isn't IT proficient and isn't unlikely to close it by accident. I am using HWinfo to measure CPU cores and package temps, as well as fans.

Which AIO cooler do you have? Are the fans 4 pin or 3 pin?

This model is an Akasa Venom featuring two fans merged into one 4-pin connector, along with a provided cable.

They're currently functioning properly. It seems the motherboard tends to disregard fan profiles unpredictably. After making minor adjustments and restarting, the fans resumed operation seamlessly, as though no issues occurred previously.
