before installing the new CPU, the RAM appears to function properly. It reports an 8GB total, but after installation, the Task Manager shows only 3.9GB, with the 4.1 GB marked as hardware reserved. The BIOS lists DIMM1 with 4GB and DIMM2 with 4GB as well. Despite troubleshooting—adjusting BIOS settings, using msconfig, modifying the registry—I haven’t resolved the issue. The new CPU is working correctly too. I’ve tested the RAM slots and confirmed they’re operational. When I reinstall my old CPU, the BIOS still displays 8GB total. This inconsistency is confusing.
