I have four USB ports at the front of my PC—two with USB 2.0 and two with USB 3.0—and after switching to Windows 10, one USB 2.0 port stops working and one USB 3.0 port also fails. They just stop functioning when plugged in. I've tried restarting, unplugging, uninstalling drivers, rebooting, and updating drivers via Device Manager, but the driver is still up to date. Any suggestions?

Restart the installation of motherboard drivers and verify compatibility with Windows 10. After that, remove and reattach power if using a laptop or disconnect the CMOS battery when removing the battery from a desktop.

How to remove the CMOS battery? For your Asus Z97-a, you can skip the USB drivers and go straight to the chipset download at the provided link.

If everything fails, check for Windows 10 driver updates or reach out to the motherboard maker. A new motherboard is coming up—apologies if I didn’t know better.

Apologies for the delayed response. The physical battery is located on your motherboard. Press the designated button on both sides until it releases. Allow 30 minutes, ensuring the computer is unplugged.
