After upgrading to 5600x, the PC failed to start.
My motherboard uses the B350 chipset and required a BIOS upgrade to support newer Ryzen chips. I updated the BIOS directly to the latest release, and it functions properly with my original Ryzen 3 1200. After replacing it, the system didn’t boot, fans spun, and an error light appeared. I checked connections and restored the old CPU, which still worked. Specifications include MSI B350m pro-vdh (BIOS E7A38AMS.AL3, latest beta, supports AGESA for 5000 series), AMD Ryzen 5 5600x, Corsair Vengeance RAM (2400MHz, dual-channel 32GB), and an EVGA 500W power supply.
Verify the pins are straight and free of debris. Have you attempted to reset the CMOS?
No success. No bent pins, no dust, cleared CMOS yet, but it won’t start. The CPU indicator remains lit.
I hope so—it’s brand new. I’ll follow up after testing, as I have a friend with a matching setup.
Did you inspect the socket for debris? If only one stick functioned at once, the CPU might not be correctly placed or the CPU/motherboard could be faulty. Verify by referencing a thread or mentioning someone in your reply, otherwise they won’t receive a notification about your response.
