I received the updated CPU (Intel i7-3770) to replace the older one (Intel i5-2400). After installing it and turning it on, the only thing that seems to rotate is the power supply unit, but it keeps restarting as shown in the video. It still boots and works with the previous CPU. Could someone assist? The power consumption should be under a certain limit, as indicated by searches showing the i5 uses 95W and the i7 77W. IMG_0456.mov
Which motherboard are you running? Not every Sandy Bridge chipset is compatible with Ivy Bridge, and you must install BIOS updates from the board manufacturer to unlock that support. In particular, you need a board featuring a H61, P67, or Z68 chipset unless you're using an Ivy Bridge board and upgrade to a BIOS version that enables Ivy Bridge processors.
