Current setup: Ryzen 5 5500 Msi B350 Tomahawk with Evga GTX 660 Ti. OS is Truenas Scale (Linux). Earlier I used an AMD A10 9700 with built-in graphics. After updating the BIOS and installing the GPU, everything functioned properly. Now with the new CPU, there’s no display even though I’m connected to it. The CPU cooler isn’t producing any heat, does the CPU not power on at all despite fans spinning and the GPU fan running? Updated January 25, 2023 by NickLeben

You didn’t upgrade to the beta, so sticking with the latest full release seems safer.

MSI's CPU support page lists the required BIOS versions for compatibility. This information helps you know the minimum BIOS needed to run each compatible chip. The latest non-Beta BIOS was released in early 2019, while the Ryzen 5 5500 was launched in 2022. It’s improbable a BIOS would support a chip announced three years later, even if they share the same socket.

You require the most recent (Bata) BIOS. The 2019 version won't function.

We require AGESA 1.2.0.3c or later for compatibility with Ryzen 5000. The 2019 release remains under AGESA 1.0.0.6.
