After upgrading certain components, PC fails to show any output.
So I recently replaced some components in my PC, and now it powers on but there is no display, while the fans continue to run at full speed.
Previous configuration
Ryzen 5 2600
stock CPU cooler
Asus Prime B450M-A
Crucial ballistix 2x16GB 3000MHz
ASUS dual RX 580 4GB
480GB NVMe SSD
Seasonic Focus Gold 450W 80+ Gold
NZXT H510
Here are the parts I upgraded. All items are new.
Ryzen 7 5800X
Deepcool Castle 240EX A-RGB
XFX Speedster Swift Radeon RX 6800
Corsair RM750e 80+ Gold
Before making these changes, I updated my BIOS for the motherboard (version 4401) and reset Windows on my PC.
I have tried several solutions so far:
- Removing the CMOS battery
- Testing various cables from the power supply
- Reusing my previous GPU
- Using my old CPU again
- Inspecting the CPU pins for damage
Currently, I still have both my old CPU and GPU installed, but nothing is working.
No warning lights appear on the motherboard.
When the RX 6800 was connected before shutting down, the light above the 2x8 pin briefly flashed red. This led me to suspect a faulty GPU, but after reinstalling my old GPU and facing the same problem, I became even more puzzled.
What should I do next?
Did you install the correct cables for your new PSU? Using the old ones might have harmed the hardware if linked to your parts with the new PSU and the unit itself. Use the old PSU with your existing components.
Did you attach the full ATX connector to the motherboard and the PSU? The PSU side has two connectors: one 10pin and one 18pin.
The video cable is connected to your GPU, not the motherboard?
