So two days ago I had to restart my PC to update the BIOS to version 4.4 vcore 1.39 and play a game. It froze, as you know, when I tried to increase more vcore but couldn’t boot. It would freeze during logo loading, sometimes showing a few codes like “4-5 code” or an uncorrectable error, or the machine would check for issues. I reset the BIOS back to defaults, but it didn’t work. I can still turn on the PC and set BIOS manually, but I can’t boot from Windows. I’m booting from USB or DVD, but it doesn’t work. What’s wrong with my PC? Thank you. My rig is an Fx8320e GA 970a d3 rev1.4 with Corsair Vengeance 4x2 SSD and Windows 10 Pro.

depending on your CPU, the Vcore is too high when it gets too hot or not high enough to run at 4.4GHz stably. What cooling system do you have? If you can't adjust the Vcore in BIOS, you'll need to reset the CMOS. I use a Z97 board, so just move the RTCRAM jumper to the other two pins—check your motherboard manual for instructions.

depending on your CPU, does the vcore seem too high when it runs hot or is it not high enough for a stable 4.4ghz? what's your cooling setup like? if you can't even adjust the vcore in BIOS, you'll need to reset the CMOS. I'm using a Z97 board, so just move the RTCRAM jumper to the other two pins—check your motherboard manual for instructions on resetting CMOS. Water cooling is definitely an option, and yes, I've set everything to the default settings.

I discovered a hint, if I turn off 7-8 cores, I can start Windows again, everything works normally, but it keeps happening, what's wrong with my PC?
