I recently faced an issue with my MOBO and decided to renew it. I upgraded to the AsRock B760M PG Lightning. Previously, my fiber connection was stable with speeds exceeding 400mb/s. Now it’s capping at 100mb/s. I’ve tried updating drivers from both Realtek and Dragon boards, but nothing changed. I don’t have a clean Windows installation option on my boot drive yet. I switched to a new certified Cat6 Ethernet cable, powered off and on my router and modem, but the problem persisted. Both settings were changed to force 1Gb and Auto, yet speeds remained at 100mb/s. Windows 11 is fully updated as of January 2025. My ISP has been asked about any issues, but since this happened right after the MOBO change, I’m exploring other fixes on my end. Any suggestions?

Typical reason is faulty cable, possibly involving drivers as well.

The previous motherboard manufacturer was known for its distinct designs. Was that the same model you were referring to?

It was a Gigabyte B660M GAMING X (rev. 1.0) DDR5 unit. I got it brand new around two years ago when it stopped working, so I swapped it in with an Asrock.

I've saved the newest Ethernet card from the Asrock website for this board. I also turned off IPV6, but speeds remain below 100mb/s still.

It's common for windows to cause issues when moving between companies. You might need a fresh installation.

You're looking for a straightforward way to reinstall Windows 11 without going through the usual troubleshooting steps. A fresh install might be the simplest option, but you could also try restoring from a clean backup or using a recovery media if available. If none of these work, consider reaching out to support for guidance tailored to your situation.

IPv6 is unrelated to capped speeds.

Consider trying a repair installation first and observe the results, though it's difficult to judge right now.
