After the BIOS update, the HD sound controller is not detected or working properly.
I received the intel 12500 and some advised a BIOS update or risk damaging the CPU. I applied it, but the HD audio controller vanished. In BIOS there’s an option for “onboard audio,” which is enabled/disabled, yet Windows shows it as missing entirely. The Device Manager lists it under hidden devices too. Installing Realtek drivers keeps failing and looping. Both Windows versions have the soundcard absent, not due to driver or update issues. Only after the BIOS change did things disappear. Uncertain what to do—could the update have caused the card to stop working? MB: MPG B760I EDGE WIFI DDR4 - MSI
It happened to a friend; the BIOS version caused his audio driver to be incompatible, forcing him to make adjustments. He discovered a solution on Microsoft’s forums and is looking for it now.
