I'm not claiming it's incorrect, but after switching to the splitter from one VGA out on the PSU, the system feels more stable. Clock speed stayed the same, but frame rate is noticeably smoother and more consistent. I'm not sure what that actually means. Right now I'm holding off on extensions to check how it works with a new PSU and CPU power. GPU cables are long enough, so those shouldn't impact performance.
System experienced identical power failure when the 1 VGA output was connected to two GPU ports. Duration was roughly three hours, no further changes observed. Installed new PSU extensions; results pending confirmation. Currently uncertain if the issue stems from a failing PSU or a weak GPU requiring return to manufacturer. Answers expected soon, possibly delayed until weekend. Work deadline in midweek adds pressure.
Last check unless something goes wrong; my old PSU seems to be the problem. Not sure if it’s failing or just overwhelmed by power spikes from the card as Blackjack mentioned. Replacing it stopped a ticking sound that only happened when under load with the old unit, so I think it was dying.
