All speed reports for RAM aren't officially confirmed, meaning components like chipsets and motherboards must adapt to work together. Also, higher speeds are harder to align with timing requirements. Even with XMP or similar features, achieving a higher clock speed remains challenging.
Okay so once again while in idle my pc screen went black and the cpu light was on. I've already ordered a new motherboard and I'll see if that does anything. Now I need to wait three days for it. It's wierd how this issue changed after I downgraded my BIOS version. I no longer see the VGA light coming on but instead I get black screens and a CPU light. Before these black screens caused the DRAM light to go on. Also regarding the motherboard swap I should wipe my boot drive before installing it on a new motherboard, right?
So here’s what I learned for future readers. Initially, I used drivers that didn’t match the current OS and were outdated, which was a big oversight. Even after adjusting the settings, the problem persisted. I also modified advanced power options based on a guide, but it didn’t resolve the issue. Eventually, the fix came from changing the CMOS/MOBO settings after switching the motherboard. It worked once, so it’s worth trying if you’re facing similar challenges.
