The Asrock G41c motherboard lists DDR2 RAM support, but it doesn’t display any images when powered on. The memory modules appear to be compatible with other systems, yet nothing is showing up.

The two RAM modules are different. You can't mix them, or it won't function properly.

This may be useful. https://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/g41c-gs/ - Dual Channel DDR3/DDR2 technology - Two DDR3 slots - Works with DDR3 1333(OC)/1066/800 non-ECC, un-buffered memory - System memory capacity can reach up to 8GB * - Two DDR2 slots - Supports DDR2 800/667/533 non-ECC, un-buffered memory - System memory capacity also reaches up to 8GB * * Both DDR3 and DDR2 are available separately. * * Because of OS restrictions, the actual size might be under 4GB for Windows 32-bit OS usage. For Windows 64-bit with a 64-bit CPU, this isn't an issue. * * To get the best performance, install either a 4GB module with 16 cells or two 2GB modules each with at least 8 cells.
