So I've just finished building my first gaming PC and I seem to have done a good job as I can get the system to boot into BIOS via my R9 290X 8GB card. I am currently awaiting a few more parts to come in the mail, a sound card, wireless card, DVD drive and Windows 7 64 bit disc. I have put the GPU back into its box just to help me assemble my last few parts (GPU makes it super hard to access the SATA ports on the MB). So while I am waiting for my stuff to come I thought I would do some research into what drivers, updates and software I need to do first. Should I do a BIOS driver update? I have seen various arguments either way for that. Anyway thanks in advance for your help!

Update your driver if you're experiencing problems or just want to. Set up your drivers usually like this: LAN (network card) > GPU > any SATA drivers > audio > other misc drivers. What matters is what you need. I start by installing Windows updates, then Chrome, Steam, Origin, Firefox, Java JDK, Notepad++, VLC, WinRar, Filezilla, Skype, qBittorrent, Teamviewer, and finally Android SDK. The quickest method to achieve this is using Ninite.

Visit Nitnite.com to download drivers for your devices. Use a browser such as Chrome or Firefox, install antivirus protection like Malware Bytes, add VLC player, Steam, Open Office (unless you intend to use Microsoft Office), Acrobat Reader, Java, and any other software you need. Ensure all updates are completed before proceeding.
