I cleared my hard drive to set up an SSD and purchased an external HDD for backing up my games. Since my internet speed is only 150Kb/s, I backed up The Crew and now I'm trying to upload the backup into Uplay. It keeps asking to download it, but I want a place where I can store the backup and play directly without waiting.
You're questioning the download process. It seems like the file is being saved locally instead of downloading properly.
The uplay doesn't let you shift games, so you'll need to reinstall the full version. I discovered this the other day when transferring Watch Dogs to my hard drive.
It's strange how UPlay works... let me explain what happened to me. I used the Crew beta some time ago and recently removed it. But since the beta is gone and isn't listed in my UPlay collection, and because you can't install a game if it's not there, I couldn't uninstall it. I just had to delete the file and clear the installation record. Still... what a surprise from Ubisoft!
