I recently switched to a red devil 6700xt from a 2060super. The graphics card has performed well until yesterday. I encountered a problem with my steelseries screen capture—unless I enabled the capture feature in AMD Adrenaline, it wouldn’t work. After turning it on, my frame rate was unstable on the desktop. Without checking, I disabled FreeSync in AMD software, which resolved the issue. But when I restarted my PC this morning, my monitor stopped receiving input and started cycling through inputs. My Acer monitor previously handled this well with Xbox, so it seems FreeSync is likely the culprit now that it’s off. Since I have an Intel F-series CPU without integrated graphics, I’m unsure if turning FreeSync back on would help. I’ve tried reseating the GPU and all diagnostic lights are normal. Both devices are new and still under warranty. I’d prefer to keep the GPU if it can be fixed easily. Any advice would be invaluable.

In the recording tab, switch the encoder from AVC to H265, problems should be resolved

The simple method is to switch your monitor using a different image source and your computer with another screen. The one that fails is the problem.

The monitor functioned properly with my Xbox, suggesting the problem isn't there. The motherboard debug LEDs appear normal, which means the issue likely lies elsewhere, possibly in the recording software or free sync settings.

This situation makes sense. It’s unlikely your Nvidia drivers were the main issue, but using DDU and reinstalling AMD software might help. It could also be that an automatic update caused problems. You should verify the latest Windows, driver, and capture software updates to see if they align with when your issues began. If needed, consider reinstalling a fresh Windows to resolve potential corruption.

Fortunately I still have my GPU, so I’m attempting that. I’m aware my AMD drivers are up to date with my SteelSeries software, but I’m not sure about the Windows update—I wasn’t asked for one when I shut down. Thank you for your assistance; I’ll follow your advice if another GPU works. I don’t know what triggered it, possibly related to video encoding as mentioned earlier.
