So here is what happened, I replaced the thermal paste on my pc and after that the pc wouldn't boot, I tried a lot of stuff and it turned on by doing a cmos reset but taking the battery out and got into windows but I needed to do some stuff in the bios like getting my ram to the right speed so I did that and the pc wouldn't boot again, so i tried a the cmos reset again and got no where pls help lol Aso had this problem a few months ago when I took my gpu out and put it back in and I solved it by doing the cmos reset but since I've tried now for a couple times I don't wanna mess with it anymore Spec Cpu Ryzen 5 5600x Gpu Rx6600 Motherboard asus prime b550 wifi Ram 8x2 3600mhz teamgroup Ssd kingstone 500gb Hdd 4tb wd
thermal paste on the CPU? just go back and repeat. there could be poor adhesion and parts of the die not fully covered. check for spots that are too thick and might trap a bit of air. make sure the cooler is seated firmly and evenly when you install it, applying gentle pressure then twisting until it fits snugly. avoid simply placing it on top and tightening it. the paste should be uniform with no gaps between the CPU and the cooler base.
Unless he removed the CPU while taking out the cooler, it should fit correctly. It’s safe to inspect. It might be good to ensure all pins are clean and free of dust or debris in case the CPU was taken out during installation. The 5600 model isn’t old enough for a repaste unless it was poorly made, which would likely cause issues right away.
