Hi there, newbie! I just got a 5800X and was advised to run it with RyzenMaster for all-core overclocking. It boosted the core clocks up to 4.95GHz but cut power consumption. Now it’s handling 120-130 watts while keeping those core speeds around 4.8 and 4.7GHz. That’s lower than expected since overclocking usually means more power, not less.

It looks extremely unstable with significant clock stretching. Achieving 4.95GHz across all cores is rare and typically only possible with subambient cooling. Verify this by testing performance under benchmark conditions to understand the relationship between score and stock. Avoid full-core overclocking on Ryzen 5000 outside competitive testing—it often results in lower overall performance.

PBo can likely boost single-core performance, possibly reaching around 5GHz, though that feels like a modest increase. It seems Allcore usually runs at a lower frequency than manually setting static voltage.

With real tools like Linpack or Prime95, it slows by 3-5% as you hit peak limits around 4.5-4.6GHz instead of the higher numbers seen with PBO in full workloads. Overall, the gain is minimal and not worth the extra effort compared to simply enabling PBO.

I've experienced no stability problems. Under full load the CPU maintains 4.95 for roughly 10 seconds before dropping to 4.85-4.75ghz (hyper 212 cooler with two fans). Using cinabench r23 improved its score from 14500-15200 to now reaching around 16600. Switching to 112w and 75c to 80c versus the PBO 140-150w and 85c to 90c at 4.8 locked performance. Even the blender showed a slight slowdown. Only titles like CSGO noticed a drop from 560fps to 480fps on average.

It appears the maximum limit needs adjustment, you can also increase the clock speed a bit but it seems restricted to 103-104 unless you change the PCIe link speed to Gen3 or Gen2.
