I just purchased a 120 GB SSD for my system, and I plan to install the operating system after Alienware restores it. I’ll keep the remaining 1 TB drive as a backup storage until then. After the new drive is installed, I still want to access all my games, music, and programs. Will Windows recognize the files on the other drive? Should I move anything?
You own 500 GB of games, 250 MB of music, and lack any extra storage. Trying to redownload everything isn’t possible.
You launch the old EXE file in a fresh setup and it organizes itself with minimal downloads. About 90% of non-Steam titles launch after installing the June 2010 DirectX update I discovered. If not, simply reinstall them. Minor fixes often require another clean install, most issues can be resolved using Ninite (search online). No manual guide needed—just observe each program's behavior during a new install and handle problems individually; it usually takes only a short time.
