I reside in Montreal in a two-story condo, each floor around 600 square feet. My router sits on the main floor, while my office is on the second floor. I’m using a Wi-Fi adapter from Amazon and a Valerie router with a 300MB connection. Would it be wise to switch to a Wi-Fi 6 router? If yes, what model should I consider for affordability?

Upgrading to a Wi-Fi 6 router is a smart choice since it offers improved range and quicker data speeds. I discovered affordable models you might like: ASUS RT-AC67P, TP-Link Archer AX55, and ASUS WiFi 6 Router (RT-AX3000). These are ideal for a two-story building and deliver solid coverage. Explore their specifications and prices to find the best fit. Hope this assists!

The TP-Link Archer AX55 receives excellent ratings, so I might consider getting one soon.

Your existing Wi-Fi setup may not see significant improvements unless you upgrade to Wi-Fi 6. If you have Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), the benefits might be limited even on the 5 GHz band. The MIMO configuration of your USB 3 Wi-Fi 6 adapter isn't specified, so it could range from 2x2 to 1x1, potentially restricting performance.
