I’m currently relying on Windows firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials, but I was advised to consider Microsoft Security Essentials as it can be heavy on system resources. I’m not sure what other options exist beyond searching for recommendations. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. The attached screenshot shows the processes running, and I’m looking for lightweight security solutions. Please let me know if you need more details. Thanks in advance!

I tried AVG Free Anti Virus earlier, before moving to Norton 360. It’s really good since it has QuickTune, which is a tool that helps clean your PC and speed it up.

If you rarely engage in silly online activities, MalwareBytes is definitely sufficient for your needs.

I tried AVG, the free edition, for a couple of months before upgrading to the paid version, and it performed well.

I rely on AVG free, though I believe Malwarebytes performs better.

If you need bank information, please share it. Avoid risky websites like xxx.com for adult content and steer clear of suspicious downloads. Refrain from clicking emails from unknown senders claiming to help with money transfers. For protection, consider using tools such as Malwarebytes, AVG, Avast or ZoneAlarm.

For real-time detection, use Malwarebytes. For background checks, a Linux distribution works best.

I think AVG is the top free antivirus option. Right now I'm on my phone, so I'll share my thoughts once I'm back on my desktop. Kaspersky, on the other hand, is my preferred paid security solution.

Thanks to everyone, it seems AVG and MalwareBytes are the most popular options. I’ll explore them all to find the interface and features I prefer, again thank you!
