Hello, I'm planning to assemble a budget 3D productivity PC using a 3700X motherboard. I have an older Micro ATX case that also fits Mini ITX, and I'm ready to install the ASUS GeForce GTX 1660 Ti. My main concern is whether switching to the MSI B450M Mortar Max will affect RAM performance compared to the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro WiFi. I'm considering adding either a G.Skill Trident Z Neo F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC or a G.Skill Trident Z RGB F4-3200C14D-16GTZR, both with 16GB RAM. The MSI board is cheaper, but I'm confident in its VRM design. Since this will be a high-demand 3D productivity machine—especially for rendering complex scenes—I want to know if the B450 can handle the workload better than the X570. Thanks in advance! Yardy.

The gigabyte card offers superior VRM performance. It seems the gigabyte card performs better during DDR4 overclocking. In my opinion, MATX is outdated; I’d prefer ITX or ATX models.

It seems like there isn't a big distinction, especially considering you can also boost the RAM speed. The X570 setup is likely to work better in this case.

Thanks - thanks... If you're just looking to boot the whole PC, I'm not an overclocker and this won't be my primary machine but rather part of a farm for most of its time. In my country, the price jump from MSI to Gigabyte is about $218...

Since both kits are 2 DIMM, the 3600MHz CL16 offers superior performance over the 3200 CL14 because of a tighter matching FCLK. (If budget allowed, I’d prioritize cheaper RGB LEDs first)

That's a solid observation, Jurrunio. It seems the model you're looking at matches the performance of the NEO's referenced earlier. The G.Skill Ripjaws V F4-3600C16D-16GVKC with 2x8GB DDR4 RAM is likely comparable.
