You can link your two PCs together using the 1 Gig Ethernet ports as a bridge. Then connect both devices directly via the 2.5 Gig ports to form a full network. To ensure data travels through the higher-speed connection, configure your router or switch to prioritize the 2.5 Gig link for traffic between the devices. Adjust routing tables or use Quality of Service settings if needed.

Confirm. Give each gadget a fixed static IP in its respective operating systems, separate from the standard 1G network subnet. Use only that IP for access. You may also update the hosts file to include an alias for convenient recall.

Host files store configuration settings for your system or applications. Adding aliases lets you reference these files more conveniently, simplifying access and reducing repetition.

Allows inputting //servername instead of //{IP address} during access. The hosts file is the initial check the machine performs before sending a DNS query.
