You're seeking recommendations for an I9 processor that fits within a budget, supporting DDR4, and works with your current setup including the existing components. Your rig has an Intel Core i7-7700K, 16GB DDR4 RAM, RTX 2060 graphics, SSDs, HDDs, and a 650W Corsair PSU. The motherboard uses ATX form factor. You're looking for the best I9 option that meets these requirements.
How to Request New Build or Upgrade Guidance
Understanding the proper way to ask for new build or upgrade advice. This adaptation was made based on recent discussions where many users seek recommendations for upgrades, both here and in CPU forums. I believe it's important to follow the right etiquette when seeking such information.
Sorry, around $300, looking for ways to bypass Windows 11's CPU restrictions for an upgrade. Any advice on CPU or motherboard upgrades that fit your current setup?

Understand the specific chip details. The 200 series supports 6th and 7th generation CPUs, while the 300 series is compatible with 8th and 9th generation processors. All three series use LGA 1151 form factors, though their compatibility varies.
You would exhaust your entire budget without gaining much value. Instead, invest in a new motherboard that allows for modest upgrades. These options might seem insignificant, such as the suggested i9 upgrade, but their worth remains uncertain. Enhanced RAM could be another upgrade to consider later.
The LGA1700 socket supports several CPUs that offer good performance at similar costs. Choose something affordable now and monitor price changes.

I wouldn’t upgrade to an i7 unless you have extra funds. Once you can afford it, switch to a 14th gen i7 14700K for better performance and consider a 32GB kit now, as 16GB is nearing the limit. You could also opt for the i5 12400.

This model lets you purchase CPU, motherboard, and RAM together for $350. The 12400 is quicker than your current 7700K and also surpasses the 7900K. It includes its own cooler, though you already have one. What cooler do you have?
The (12th gen) stock intel cooler performs well, though it can be noisy at times and isn't as effective as an Assassin or Noctua in maintaining low temperatures. It still gets the job done without dropping performance, and it comes with the purchase.
For my i3 12100 with a stock cooler, it runs quietly most of the time, but becomes noisy when the processor starts boosting. It's an improvement over the older 3rd gen coolers, which is why I skipped the 7th gen.
If you have funds available, consider getting a better cooler—similar to what you'd choose around the time of upgrading to an i7 14700K. The i5 13600K is also worth looking into; it's impressive and might be more accessible. The 14700K offers speed and performance, while the 13600K could be a more practical option.
Regarding RAM, you can stick with what you have until you need a new 32Gb system. The one I mentioned is very fast and from a reputable brand.
You might want to consider selling your old RAM once you install the new one to recoup some value.
