Will the EVGA G2 650w suffice for your overclocked 4770k @ 4.3Ghz and an OC'd 1080 Ti? I know the G2 runs quietly, while my XFX 850W XXX black edition tends to be quite loud during intense gaming sessions.

Thanks for the reply guys
So should i order the EVGA G2 650 - EVGA P2 650 or Corsair RM650x - these are all quiet i believe, or silent!?
The G2 and P2 have hybrid fan modes, I am not sure about the RM650x, hybrid fan keeps the fan off except under heavy loads. All 3 are quiet you really can't go wrong with any of them.

I believe 650w is fine, but for better security it's advisable to opt for a 700w power supply from reputable manufacturers such as EVGA and ANTEC.

It should be fine overall. The main focus is on the graphics card. The GTX 1080 Ti requires 600 watts.
I anticipate both power supplies will operate quietly. However, I suggest using the Seasonic Platinum models for their quiet performance. One of them is rated at 860 Watts.

Jonathan Cave is asking if the EVGA G2 650w will suffice for his overclocked 4770k at 4.3Ghz with an OC of 1080 Ti, noting the G2 is quieter than his XFX 850W XXX black edition which gets noisy during gaming. He mentions the 650w is sufficient and suggests a 550 G2 would also work well.

If you're feeling confident, you might consider swapping out the PSU fan for a quieter Noctua NF model. Make sure to follow safety guidelines since some capacitors can retain significant voltage.

This setup consumes 410 watts when running an i7-6700K at 4.6Ghz and 60Hz, with an OC of 4.6Ghz and 60Hz. The GTX 1080 Ti typically uses around 280 watts in default mode. Adding a standard overclock could increase consumption by another 30 watts.

A regular overclock might push the CPU, motherboard, RAM, and storage to about 150 watts. At normal speeds, the i7-4770K draws roughly 115 watts when loaded, including motherboard, RAM, and storage. With an overclock to 4.6/4.7Ghz, this would rise to around 35 watts more.

Load power usage for integrated graphics is detailed here:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/7003/the-h...k-tested/2

Power consumption differences between 3.5Ghz and 4.7Ghz can be found at:
https://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2013/0...u-review/7

Under load, a system might draw between 425W and 450W with overclocking.

Check if ordering the EVGA G2 650 or EVGA P2 650 would be a good choice, as both are believed to be quiet. Consider Corsair RM650x as an alternative.
