Hello,
I'm trying to understand why my PC won't start with a new power supply.
I have an old PC from 2012 or 2013 that has been broken since 2018 (Motherboard and GPU are dead), and I want to reuse it for its original purpose.
I managed to revive it using the hardware listed above for about six months, and it's now working properly:
Processor: i5-2500K LGA1155
Motherboard chipset: Intel B75
Motherboard: B75-G578U (presumably a local brand, see link)
Memory: Samsung 8GB + Kingston 4GB
GPU: Radeon R7-240
Power Supply: Standard 380W
Cooling: Standard
SSD: 1pcs - 512GB – used for main boot and OS
HDD: 3pcs – 1T, 1T, 340GB – for data only
Now, I plan to upgrade the GPU and PSU.
I changed the GPU to Radeon RX-580 and the PSU to Antec ATOM V550.
After installing the new PSU, the PC still won't start, even if I connect just the motherboard and remove everything else.
I think the issue might be related to the difference in DC output between the old and new power supplies.
Old PSU specs: +3.3V (16A), +5V (30A), +12V (14A), -5V (0.5A), -12V (0.5A), +5VSB (2.5A)
New PSU specs: +3.3V (18A), +5V (18A), +12V (45.8A), -5V (?) , -12V (0.3A), +5VSB (2.5A)
Could it be that the lower +5V output is causing the problem?
Also, I already did a paperclip test and it worked fine.
Where might I have gone wrong?
Help me figure this out.
Thank you.

These Antec PSUs are terrible, don't rely on them.

Even inexpensive Evga models tend to outperform Antek in most cases
