Hey, this question has definitely come up many times before. I'm really new to overclocking, so please don't be too hard on me.
First off, can anyone suggest a solid guide for overclocking AMD FX chips?
Specifically, what BIOS settings should you turn off before you begin?
Should you try overclocking with the multiplier or FSB?
If you go with FSB, how does that influence RAM speeds and timings?
Based on that, what steps should I take with RAM to help achieve the overclock?
Also, if I adjust the FSB or multiplier but keep the voltage constant, will temperature change?
My setup looks like this: FX 8350, MSI 970 Gaming, 16 GB GSKILLs Rip Jaws 2133 RAM (4x4), 650W Antec 80 Plus Gold, MSI R9 290X, Hyper Evo 212 air cooler.
I've read some advice but I'm still unsure where to start. I mainly use the PC for gaming and just want a bit more performance.
Thanks in advance!
