The main reason for hesitation has been the various motherboard issues. Choosing a motherboard with DDR5 support is worthwhile. It’s not essential for playing games at maximum settings—just enough performance for smooth operation. A decent frame rate is sufficient, but you’d still want a GPU that allows further upgrades if needed.

I was aiming to switch to a 1440p monitor.
For better clarity and higher quality, the GPU plays the most crucial role while the CPU ensures smooth performance. What specifications do you currently have? An R7 5800x3D would definitely be a solid upgrade that works with any GPU. Regarding DDR5, it’s not the main focus by itself; it mainly indicates the need to move to a more advanced and powerful system that will last longer.
