Hi guys,
I'm searching for a laptop that offers a great screen and long battery life. It will mainly be used for Python coding, so I don't expect heavy tasks like gaming or running large video editing apps. I need something comfortable to use for extended periods, with a good display size—no bigger than 15.6 inches. Also, I prefer lightweight devices. Based on what I've seen, here are some options:
Dell XPS
Macbook Air M1
Lenovo X1 Carbon
Although the M1 model has a Retina display, strong battery performance and light weight, I haven't used Apple products before and feel uncertain about it.
What do you all recommend? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Usually we ask users to adjust their thread style to match this example, and then proceed with recommendations. You didn’t mention your location or preferred purchasing site.
Razer offers a decent screen, but the MacBook’s panel is higher up compared to other laptops. If you’re not planning to game, the MacBook M1 is a solid choice. I don’t personally favor Apple products, but given your constraints, it’s the best option here.

Thank you for your input. For my needs, a MacBook with 8GB should suffice, though I’m not worried about running out of memory. Regarding the size of future Mac OS releases, I haven’t experienced them before, so I can’t say for sure if they tend to make newer versions larger and slower.

I would suggest getting the 16 gigs so my sister can use her M1 MacBook for coding too.
