Are there any tools that handle these tasks? Observing the audio before or after they appear and filtering out high frequencies helps. I’m reaching out because I strongly dislike those sound effects or concussion noises in music or films—they can make tinnitus worse throughout the day.

Consider modifying your computer's audio configuration to avoid that specific tone

Sure, give it a try. It might not be perfect, but it could work if it does. This feature will stop all those high-pitched bothersome noises. I own an old amplifier from the 80s that I use, and I don’t have tinnitus yet, but I still think the PC tone should help balance things out.

I'll attempt to shift the audio using an EQ with Sound-Flower since Mac doesn't support an equalizer directly. But that's not what you asked.

Mac doesn’t include an equalizer by default. Are you streaming your films via iTunes? It does come with an equalizer feature. (Probably on Windows too, I think)

I work with VLC. It looks like the Mac version lacks built-in support for EQ. I’ll add a plugin.
