Many people have shared their experiences, but for me it varies a lot from game to game. Some titles (Project Zomboid, Far Cry 3, DayZ) run smoothly at under 30 frames per second, while others like Assassins Creed Botherhood, CS:GO, and Grid 2 demand higher speeds—over 60fps—to be enjoyable. It all comes down to how each engine handles performance.

I recall that much. Back when I received the GTX 660, I prioritized its performance over gameplay enjoyment. Now I’m averaging around 18 FPS in CS:GO and struggle to find time for both testing and playing

The 30 FPS figure remains unchanged regardless of the game engine's impact on visual smoothness. Variations in scene types affect appearance, but straight designs make low FPS more noticeable.

It relies on whether you're using a controller or a keyboard/mouse. With a mouse, 60fps is required; with a controller, 30fps might work.

60fps works well on 60hz displays, but for a 144hz screen I prefer 100+ frames per second. I really dislike playing games at 30fps since I can notice the difference in feel and clarity.

I think 30 frames per second is too low to play comfortably. I begin to feel unwell around 40-45. The excessive blur from low frame rates makes me uncomfortable and discourages me from continuing. This is especially true in games like DayZ where the visuals are muddy and blurry, worsening my discomfort. I need at least 60 FPS for a more pleasant experience, but even then I strive for the highest possible. CS:GO reaches its limit at 300 FPS, which is easy to hit.

What you enjoy personally depends on your tastes and how you feel about it. I notice a clear drop in enjoyment once the frame rate falls below 50-55, especially in many games. The real issue isn't whether a game remains fun at lower framerates—it's why developers limit performance artificially on PC without proper support or user control. The game should work well within what your hardware can handle. This principle has always been valid, even back when Doom was released two decades ago.

As long as the frame rate stays above 30 on my laptop, I'm satisfied.
