It seems like you're referring to a socket corrector, possibly a product or service. The mention of "snake oil" suggests skepticism—want to verify if it's genuine or just marketing. Need more details about what you're checking?

You might need it because it helps clarify your thoughts and provides a clearer direction for what you want to achieve.

Not useful on the AM5 board, seems no bending problems there compared to AM5. A budget direct die mount would be nice for enthusiasts because the Ryzen 7000 Gen 4 is overkill (too bulky, poor heat dissipation—check that Derauz video).

It's interesting you noticed this. I hadn't thought about the mounting problem with the latest AMD models before. It seems like a straightforward fix intended to address the issue, rather than something that might introduce further complications.

Like the Thermal Grizzly Contact Frame for LGA 1700 (https://www.thermal-grizzly.com/en/produ...er8auer-en). This model features a Direct Die frame for AM5, offering improved performance. You can find similar options around $10-15 and save some money if you're looking.

I’m not sure about all the details yet. I wasn’t certain about bending like the LGA 1700, but I thought it could be useful for thermal paste. No doubt, Noctua’s Am5 thermal paste is a good choice.

I was considering the same idea too, but unfortunately it’s gone. I suppose I could try removing the casing for some cash, since it’s just placing a CPU on top of a candle or gas stove to eliminate the IHS and remove all the indium solder.

Hold off on reviews. The downside means you lose warranty coverage for the CPU and motherboard. Taking it out will lower your temps by around 20°C, but you’re giving up the warranty—so be cautious if you’re not careful with the frame or a decent cooler. It’s safer to wait and upgrade instead of settling for a cheaper, higher-tolerance model.
