Asus has effectively concealed older BIOS versions on their site that manage CPU voltage control. If you locate a previous BIOS release, you might be able to test it. Updating to an older BIOS comes with certain risks. ThrottleStop cannot read the voltage control register until the BIOS is unlocked. The 10510U has a 15W power draw rating. Models in the low power U series were never meant for full load rendering in Maya. Unlocking the voltage control register can assist, but long-term performance will still depend on the cooling solution Asus employs. It’s suitable for a 15W processor, though likely not much beyond that for extended rendering. This example shows what the 10510U can achieve under ideal conditions with strong cooling. Many makers have given up due to insufficient cooling.

It delivers up to 51W during its short boost period, then drops to 18.7W, but gradually falls to around 16W over time when sustained load is applied. This behavior seems designed to protect the chassis from exceeding the legal temperature limits.

Could you try exceeding the current power restrictions on this machine? I’m looking to test its capabilities beyond what’s allowed. I’ve already adjusted the voltage settings as shown in the video and noticed a small boost, but the device still can’t reach its maximum performance due to its power ceiling.

Post a screenshot of the ThrottleStop - TPL window so I can see what options are available to you. Some laptops with low power U series CPUs are locked down to 15W long term and there is nothing you can do about it. The screenshot I posted above is from a laptop that does not enforce any power limits. It can run at 50W day and night. It will thermal throttle and slow down a little if it gets too hot. There is zero power limit throttling. The 10510U can run more than twice as fast when a manufacturer provides strong cooling and is kind enough to leave the power limits fully unlocked.

Before attempting changes to IMON slope or IMON offset, consider adjusting ThrottleStop. In the Power Limits Control area of the TPL window, remove both Clamp boxes. Assign Long Power PL1 and PL2 to 44. Restore the turbo time limit to the standard 28 seconds. Verify the MMIO Lock box in the upper right to disable this restriction. Configure Power Limit 4 to zero to turn it off. The suggested Speed Shift Max for your CPU is 49, but you’ve set it to 44. This adjustment may be intended to avoid pushing the CPU to its top speed. Some users dislike the additional voltage, heat, and fan noise that comes with higher multipliers. In the FIVR window, set IccMax to the maximum value of 255.75. After testing with Cinebench, monitor ThrottleStop in the Limit Reasons section. If you notice PL1 or PL2 power limits being throttled, check what ThrottleStop reports about power usage. Once these changes are applied, if you still see throttling at 15W, consider further IMON adjustments. In the Options menu, PROCHOT Offset is likely set to 10, which instructs the CPU to initiate thermal throttling at 90°C rather than the recommended 100°C. Certain laptops may fail if pushed to 100°C. Some individuals opt for an offset between 2 and 5 as a middle ground. Edit – your initial screenshot shows PROCHOT Offset correctly set. The previous version had it at 10, but this is the current setting.

I set the speedshift max to 44 because my cooling system isn’t strong enough for the laptop’s clock speed. Running Cinebench showed a drop in performance when it gets hot, so I’m expecting limited software performance under these conditions. I think this setup will work for now. Your advice about the 90°C shutdown and the upcoming thermal upgrade is great—maybe we can look into heatpipes later. Do you know what kind of adhesive they used for those laptop heatpipes?
