am4 midrangeers such as the b450 pro4 tomahawk are around 50 dollars each for repairs. Cpus usually don’t just fail suddenly unless there’s a defect, which is very uncommon, so the issue likely lies with the board itself and swapping it should resolve the problem.

I checked many reviews about my GPU and noticed most mention 7800x3D CPUs with higher FPS. I also boosted both CPU and GPU settings.

you're having trouble reaching high frame rates even when lowering the settings or enabling performance mode.

They'll experience significantly better performance in certain titles, particularly when running on reduced settings and lower resolutions—this is typically when CPU limitations become more noticeable. The 5800X handles tasks well at higher resolutions, such as 1440p in single-player AAA games, but may struggle with competitive esports titles at 1080p/Low settings. A 4070 Super tends to be heavily constrained by the CPU. It's important to review benchmarks relevant to your games to understand the impact and establish a target FPS you aim for.

You're referring to a situation where performance didn't match expectations, specifically that a 7800x3D setup didn't reach the FPS you anticipated.

I don't have personal experience, but it's possible that changing graphics settings could strain your CPU. If your brother frequently played Fortnite on your PC, adjusting settings might increase load. This could cause high CPU usage and potentially damage hardware over time.

You might anticipate similar results because both values represent high-resolution formats that balance detail and performance, making them suitable for demanding applications.

This isn't the reason I'm upgrading.

i would experience around 500fps in fortnite performance mode while watching the sky, and 7600x would run smoothly at over 500 frames. i might choose to use 7600x for better performance. i don’t play fornite personally, but i rely on it as a reference since many videos use it for comparison.
