Details: CPU - r7 5800X GPU - EVGA RTX 3070 FTW3 Ultra MB - MAG B550 Tomahawk RAM - G.Skill RipJaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) (DDR4 3600) Power supply - Corsair RM750x Gold 80 Plus Roundup: I installed the new r7 5800X on Sunday and faced some issues. Switched from an R5 3600 which worked well. Installation went smoothly, defaulting BIOS after setup. System started correctly but RAM displayed 2133 MHz instead of 3600. After updating BIOS and trying to adjust frequency again, the problem returned. Cleared CMOS and restarted; it booted fine. RAM still showed 2133. Updated BIOS version and changed frequency once more, but issue persisted. Reset CMOS to return to desktop and confirmed everything worked, yet RAM speed remains fixed. Anyone have suggestions or should I consider accepting slower performance?
In precise terms, XMP/DOCP refers to overclocking and isn't assured. Test at 3200 to check for stability.
Enable XMP support and then adjust the frequency manually to a lower value such as 3200MHz. This usually occurs when the system can't handle that speed, even though it should be able to run at 3600 or more, making this situation illogical.
