Hi everyone, I'm facing a problem with my 5800X3D. It throttles a lot and drops to around 0.5GHz even when running at full load. Under heavy stress it keeps the boost clock near 4.2GHz for a couple of seconds before dropping to 0.5GHz. The temperatures stay high at about 90°C, which I know is causing thermal throttling, but it happens consistently. I haven't managed to capture the speed at its lowest point and don’t know why it keeps happening. I've tried boosting the fans, reapplying thermal paste, and even swapped out the cooler for a Hyper 212X with one fan. Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated. I'm not very experienced with this stuff but I'm trying to fix it myself.

It implies it's attempting to avoid overheating but briefly exceeds the limit, then sharply reduces speed.

This indicates your cooler might be set incorrectly or may not provide enough cooling for the CPU.

Notably, I attempted PBO2 Tuner at -20 across all cores, yet it failed to hit 90 degrees and the problem continued.

I've tried a comparable cooler with my 5800X3D, but it never reaches 90°C. It seems there might be an issue with your configuration.

Thanks, I'll try again with the cooler and review my airflow.
