Adjusting performance of i5 3570k on MSI Z77A-G43
Hey guys, I recently got a new Hyper 212 Evo with just one fan. My temps were fine around 26-30°C while idling and 53-57°C during games. I wanted to try something different—set my CPU to 4.2ghz with auto voltages. I read about manually adjusting the voltages, so I did that but faced an issue. In BIOS, the voltage shown is 1.203V when I'm in CPU-Z, but in CPU-Z it's 1.303V. I'm confused and wondering if I did something wrong. What should I do next?
Also, for reference, when I was at 4.2ghz, my voltage changed from about 1.267V to 1.283V on CPU-Z, but when I switched back to 4.4ghz in CPU-Z it's now 1.35V. Should I revert to the previous setting?
Thanks in advance, cheers.
Looks great, you might want to raise it a bit more, but watch the temperatures (could also verify the newest BIOS and motherboard drivers)

Looks good, you might be able to push it a bit higher. Just keep an eye on the temperatures and make sure to check the latest BIOS and motherboard drivers.
Thanks for the help, but I also need assistance with something else if you're experienced in overclocking. I noticed that when I overclock my CPU at 4.4ghz, the voltage reported by CPU-Z is around 1.35v, but during a stress test on Prime95 it drops back to about 1.267v. It seems unusual, and I'm new to this process. I saw many discussions about overclocking (OC) and thought it might be worth trying.
Thanks again, I appreciate it.
